Appointments
Please make an appointment by visiting our Consulting Room.
The practice operates an appointment system. We offer a routine appointment when the next one is available to any patient contacting the practice. If we have a cancellation you will be offered the cancelled appointment if available.
On the Day Appointments
We have started a triage system whereby reception staff will be asking patients the reason they need the appointment. This helps the Staff to signpost you to the most convenient service to help you with your health problem or query. This could be:
- Pharmacy first service
- Advanced nurse practitioner
- Nurse
- Your regular GP or another GP
- Secretary
The doctors would be very grateful if you co-operate with the staff when they ask you questions and reason for appointment.
Emergencies
Although the practice operates an appointment system any emergency cases will be seen immediately if needed. Any child who is ill will be seen as soon as possible if the parents are worried, if you are unsure please telephone the receptionists for further information. When the surgery is closed there is always an out of hours doctor on call, please call 111.
Telephone Consultations
If no appointments are left and it’s an urgent matter you will be offered a telephone consultation in the morning with a GP. You will need to phone before 10:00 for a telephone ring back.
The duty doctor will call you back after his normal morning session.
Child’s Policy
The practice policy is that we see all children under two years of age on the day. Parents need to make an appointment in the morning, if you walk in then you will have to wait until the GP finishes their normal morning surgery.
Pre-bookable Appointments
An appointment with the doctor can be booked up to four weeks in advance.
Please remember GP appointments are for 10 minutes. If you have several problems to discuss it is sensible to deal with a couple in one consultation and then make another appointment. Also remember that an appointment is for one person and no other member of the family can be seen in the same appointment.
Extended Hours Appointments
The practice can offer pre-bookable extended hour appointments 7 days a week.
- Monday- Friday, 18:00-20:00 with GPs and Advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs).
- Saturdays, 08:00-12:00 with GPs, ANPs, nurse clinic and blood test clinic.
- Sunday, 08:00-12:00 with GPs and ANPs.
If you would like to book an appointment with a GP, ANP, nurse, LIVEWELL services, asthma nurse, COPD nurse, dressings and smear clinic, then please ask reception staff about these appointments.
